The rappel in Cougar Canyon

Brad had some experience Canyoneering in the desert southwest, but Matt was a beginner with no previous rappelling experience.  Both Brad and Matt handled the rappelling and canyoneering with grace and style and were excited with the high water levels.
Pura Vida Adventures owner, Joe Moerschbaecher, commented, “It was truly a pleasure to have Chaco Footwear visit us during their road trip.  I have personally worn Chaco sandals for the past 17 years and can speak to their high quality customer service and their sandal durability and comfort.

Cougar Canyon is our full day beginner canyoneering experience. Participants should be in good physical shape and be comfortable hiking on rocks at a leisurely pace, hiking up hills with rooty trails at a leisurely pace, capable of easily climbing leaning adjustable ladders and long stairs (5 flights) is a good indicator you are capable of doing this trip. Participants of this program need no prior climbing or rappelling experience. This program includes a 85 ft waterfall rappel as well as swimming and rock scrambling. Some of the travel takes place in the waterways negotiating boulders, while other parts of it take place on trails that parallel the waterway. This trip also includes travel through water that is knee deep. Cost $150 a person
