Whitewater Rafting Trips

Pura Vida Adventures offers unique small group rafting experiences on class II, III, IV Rivers. Cost is $100 per person and includes transportation to and from your accomodations in Brevard or Asheville, lunch and a full day of rafting. Minnimum of 3 people, Trip size does not exceed 10ppl. Private rafting trip charters also available for groups of 2 or more.

Duckies/Inflatable kayaks can be provided for participants who want a higher level of adventure.

Kayak Rentals and Paddling Trips: Inflatable Kayak Trips

Rent your own!

Inflatable Kayak, ducky, and kayak rental are available for $40 a day. An additional fee to rent pfd’s, paddles, and skirt applies for ww kayak rental. Ducky and recreational rental includes paddle, a pump, and PFD. This does not include a river shuttle. See Self guided paddle trips for rates that include a river shuttle.

The Experience

This trip takes you down the French Broad River as it meanders through Brevard. Explore and learn about the “third oldest river in the world” and its unique geological makeup.

This trip is offered in both recreational kayaks, inflatable kayaks, and a tandem canoe.

Half Day (5 river miles) This trip is 5 miles in length and is 1.5-2 hours on the water.
Full Day (10 river miles) This trip is 10 miles in length and is 3.5- 4.5 hours on the water

Half Day: $50 a person
Full Day: $65 a person
Includes boat rental, pfd, paddle, and river shuttle.

White Water Kayak Instruction and Inflatable Kayak Trips

Pura Vida Adventures offers kayak instruction for beginner to intermediate paddlers. Whether your goal is to learn to do the eskimo roll or become a competent class three paddler let Pura Vida’s guides help you to reach those goals through our kayak instruction programs. One and Two Day Programs also available customized to meet your groups needs. Cost varies based upon participant numbers.

Green River Paddling Trips

The Experience

If you like whitewater (and who doesn’t?), the Upper Green is your trip!! With class II-IV rapids, this remote gorge provides you with the opportunity to paddle a narrow river with challenging rapids and scenic beauty.

This trip is for athletic participants or people who have previously paddled inflatable kayaks and are looking for a new river adventure. Spend the day on a truly scenic river void of roads and few other paddlers.

Escape the feeling of being part of the rafting herd and be one of the few inflatable kayak paddlers who can say they have paddled the Upper Green.

The Lower Green river trip offers class II rapids and is great for beginners look for a whitewater experience. It is a seperate trip than the Upper Green providing great beaches and swimming opportunities on a river environment close yet tucked away from the roadside.

From beginner to experienced

Roll
Clinics

1-2 people total cost $175 1/2 day
This program focuses specifically on learning how to roll, but also teaches basic paddle strokes, wet exits, braces, and self rescue.

Beginner Kayaking

1 person $325 each additional person up to 4 people $100 a person
Includes half day of whitewater kayak instruction on flatwater followed by a river trip on beginner whitewater up to class II.

Intermediate Kayak Classes

Continue to develop your skills and receive instruction while exploring the class II-III rivers that surround North Carolina.
1 person $325 each additional person up to 4 people $75 a person
We supply all gear and equipment, but allow you to use your personal gear upon inspection by our instructors.

ACA Swiftwater Rescue Course

1 Day Course $175 a person, 2 day course $250 a person

Learn the essentials of River Rescue through our American Canoe Association Certified Swiftwater Water Rescue Instructors. Level 4 Swift water Rescue Course curriculum .
