Adaptive Outdoor programming: accessible outdoor programming

Pura Vida Adventures has offered adaptive outdoor programming for participants of varying abilities for years.  In particular our private trip programming has played a great role in meeting the needs and abilities of  a wide range of participants.

Outdoor Programming

It is recommended that participants who need additional support  contact us directly so we can determine if we can provide an unique adventures that would meet any accessibility or special needs a participant may have.

We offer a wide array of adventures from river paddling to mountain biking, and rock climbing to waterfall rappelling tours.  We also offer tours at a slower pace including waterfall hiking tours, naturalistic hikes, and vehicle tours of the blue ridge mountains.

The goal of these adaptive outdoor programs is to allow more people to get out and experience the outdoors in a new way with a private outdoor guide.

Adaptive Outdoor Programming

One of our more popular programs include our flatwater paddling program in Brevard where participants can choose to paddle a kayak themselves, share a tandem kayak with a guide, or take a private raft trip as a group of 3-6 people with a guide.

Another popular program is our beginner rock climbing also known as discover rock climbing. This trip does require participants to hike about a total of 1.5 miles throughout the trip but also offers ample opportunities to visit waterfalls and take the private trip at your own pace.

Finally for those interested in learning the historical and natural history of the mountains we also offer naturalist soft hiking tours and van tours of the Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Forest.
