Pura Vida Adventures canyoneering waterfall rappelling Asheville programming was recently featured on the Travel Channel’s Xtreme Waterparks.  The episode titled Rock Slide Ahead is described the following way on the Xtreme Waterparks website: “a group of gym rats head outdoors to Mother Nature’s waterslide in Asheville, North Carolina.” http://www.travelchannel.com/shows/xtreme-waterparks/episodes/rock-slide-ahead

The episode features Pura Vida Adventures Big Bradley Adventure Canyoneering program, as well as footage of participants rock sliding at Turtleback Falls.  Over a 2 day period, Pura Vida provided assistance to the film crew as well as guided participants through the Big Bradley canyoneering trip.  The program originally aired on Sunday 1/15/17 at 9pm (8pm central).  In the episode Pura Vida Adventures owner and head guide, Joe Moerschbaecher is heard saying in an interview, “We don’t look at it as conquering nature, rather we look at it as dancing with nature.”

Big Bradley Adventure Canyoneering (only available certain times of the year)

This is our full day canyoneering and waterfall rappelling Asheville experience. Participants should be in good physical shape and consistently maintain a high level of fitness ie comfortable hiking on rocks at a leisurely pace, hiking up hills with rooty trails at a leisurely pace, capable of easily climbing leaning adjustable ladders and long stairs (5 flights) is a good indicator you ate capable of doing this trip. Participants of this program should have prior rappelling and/or climbing experience. If you would like to do this trip but do not have prior experience you can take our half day rappelling trip or our cougar canyon trip to gain the knowledge needed to do this program. This trip is 6-9 hours of climbing, rappelling, bouldering, and “full on adventure.” This program includes the waterfall rappels pictured in National Geographic Adventure Magazine. Limit of six participants unless you contact us with a larger group and special arrangements are made. Cost $225 a person

Pura Vida Adventures was the first company to run commercial canyoneering courses in the eastern US, in addition canyoneering courses and trips are run by Joe Moerschbaecher who is certified through the American Canyon Guides Assocition.
