Whitewater Paddling from beginner to experienced
If you like whitewater (and who doesn't?), the Upper Green is your trip!! With class II-IV rapids, this remote gorge provides you with the opportunity to paddle a narrow river with challenging rapids and scenic beauty.
This trip is for athletic participants or people who have previously paddled inflatable kayaks and are looking for a new river adventure. Spend the day on a truly scenic river void of roads and few other paddlers.
Escape the feeling of being part of the rafting herd and be one of the few inflatable kayak paddlers who can say they have paddled the Upper Green.
These trips are limited to six participants unless your group is larger and request a bigger trip.
The Lower Green river trip offers class II rapids and is great for beginners look for a whitewater experience. It is a seperate trip than the Upper Green providing great beaches and swimming opportunities on a river environment close yet tucked away from the roadside.

Paddle a recreational kayak on beautiful Cascade Lake minutes from Brevard. Enjoy the relaxing waters and explore the waterfalls, estuarys, and wildlife that create this magical place.
Your guide will provide you with basic instruction before your trip and lead you to all of the extraordinary areas Cascade Lake has to offer.
This trip normally lasts about 5-6 hours and can include a lunch on the Lake for an additional fee of $15 per person.

This trip takes you down the French Broad River as it bends and turns its way between Rosman and Brevard. Explore and learn about the “third oldest river in the world” and its unique geological makeup.
This trip is offered in both recreational kayaks and inflatable kayaks and offers opportunities to learn about the river’s history as you guide shows you through this waterway known well for the birds that make their home along it banks.
This trip will also provide some excitement as your guide assists you in avoiding minor river hazards that are not found along the lakes. Tandem boats are available.

Pura Vida Adventures offers kayak instruction for beginner to intermediate paddlers. Whether your goal is to learn to do the eskimo roll or become a competent class three paddler let Pura Vida's guides help you to reach those goals through our kayak instruction programs.
Roll Clinics
1-2 people total cost $150 1/2 day
This program focuses specifically on learning how to roll, but also teaches basic paddle strokes, wet exits, braces, and self rescue.
Roll Clinic and beginner Whitewater Program
1-2 people total cost $225 Full Day
Includes half day of whitewater kayak instruction on flatwater followed by a river trip on beginner whitewater up to class II.
Intermediate Kayak Classes
Continue to develop your skills and receive instruction while exploring the class II-III rivers that surround North Carolina.
1-2 people total cost $225 Full Day
We supply all gear and equipment, but allow you to use your personal gearupon inspection by our instructors.
Learn the essentials of River Rescue through our American Canoe Association Certified Swiftwater Water Rescue Instructors.
