Day 1 » La Fortuna
Airport transfer (please indicate flight info.) We travel by private shuttle through beautiful rolling hills to arrive at Costa Rica’s Adventure Zone – the Arenal Area.
Day 2 » La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano)
Experience the ultimate waterfall adventure – strap on a harness and rappel yourself down 4 tropical waterfalls. After the thrill of the descent, we make our way along magical trails to reach the top of the brilliant, pristine canyon (lunch included.) Then in the afternoon you’ll hike near Central America’s most-active volcano – Arenal – later you’ll soak in natural hot springs to recover from your day’s adventures.
Day 3 » La Fortuna
Your chance to do world-class whitewater rafting on the intense Class 3-4 Río Toro – feel the exhilaration of over 45 crazy, continuous rapids in this secluded, picturesque (lunch included) and continue your adrenaline rush later in the afternoon with a bungee jump.
Day 4 » Monteverde
Enjoy a scenic horseback ride along Lake Arenal — spot toucans and monkeys along the way! Finish the night up in the cloud forests of Monteverde in a quiet lodge up in the hills (no lunch included.)
Day 5 » Samara
Morning is your chance to play “Indiana Jones meets Tarzan” by flying through the canopy treetops on the Sky Trek cable ziplines. Later, travel to the fun and dynamic beach town of Samara to watch a Pacific sunset and chill out with the bohemian surf culture. Enjoy the local “Tico” nightlife (no lunch included.)
Day 6 » Samara
Enjoy a sea kayaking and snorkeling tour to Isla Chora, a small island near Samara beach (no lunch included.) Soak up the rays; kick back on the beach with a piña colada!
Day 7 » San Jose Hotel
After a lazy, relaxing morning on the beach we travel to Alajuela (Costa Rica’s second largest city) where you’ll have one last chance for shopping and dancing at the local disco before catching your flight home the following morning.

Day 1 » La Fortuna
We pick you up at the airport for your private shuttle – we’ll travel about 3 hours through rolling hills and enchanting valleys tucked away in lush rainforest. You’re bound to see some wildlife as we make our way to what is considered Costa Rica’s premiere Adventure Zone – The Arenal Area.
Day 2 » La Fortuna
7:45am: We have one of the most-beautiful river canyons right in our own backyard – full of birds, tropical waterfalls and plenty of rainforest wildlife – experience the independence of your own kayak through Class 2-3 rapids or experience world-class whitewater rafting on one of Costa Rica’s wildest rivers – the Class 4 Río Toro. Wear secure shoes, clothes to get wet in and bring a change of clothes for after your tour. Dinner on your own.
Day 3 » La Fortuna
8:00am GO BIG! Costa Rica’s newest, most-unique, high-end adventure! 8 Tropical Waterfalls – Canyon Hiking & Rappelling in the Lost Canyon!! 3:45pm: We then head out on a nice walk through the forest to the base of the famous Arenal Volcano with a naturalist guide and later relax in the Baldí natural hot springs in the evening to do some lava viewing. Dinner buffet included.
Day 4 » Monteverde
Enjoy a nice and easy horseback ride from La Fortuna along Lake Arenal to the town of Río Chiquito and then we’ll transport you to the beautiful town of Monteverde in the midst of the cloud forest. Dinner on your own.
Day 5 » Monteverde
7:30am: You’ll have the choice of doing a morning, guided-tour of the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve or Sky Trek Canopy tour. Later, take some time to visit the butterfly garden, galleries and delicious restaurants on your own.
Day 6 » Samara
We then make our way by private shuttle to the Pacific-side beach of Samara to catch a spectacular sunset and finally relax.
Day 7 » Samara
Beach time!! You have the option to choose from surf lessons, or sea kayaking tour and snorkeling outing (weather permitting.)
Day 8 » Airport Transfer
We take you back to reality… airport transfer to the capital city of Costa Rica – San José.

Day 1, 2 & 3 » La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano
We provide a comfortable transfer from the airport and whisk you away through green rolling hills right to the Arenal Volcano area for check-in to your hotel.
You will be staying 2 nights at the base of the Arenal Volcano, among one of the most-active volcanoes in the world. You’ll have breathtaking views of the perfectly shaped volcano cone from your hotel: the Hotel Fortuna right in the heart of the charming town of La Fortuna.

Day 4 » MONTEVERDE
After two nights near the Arenal Volcano, you can choose an Adventure Connection and be transported up to to the mystic cloud forest of Monteverde:

All are unique and fun ways to travel the beautiful terrain from the Arenal Volcano up to the cloud forests of Monteverde.
Once you arrive to Monteverde, you will be staying at a family-owned and operated lodge. The cabins are basic, but comfortable with good service and well-located.

Day 5, 6 & 7 » PLAYA SAMARA
You’ll have been up in the crisp mountain air of the Monteverde Cloud forest for a couple days and now you’re ready to hit the hot, sun-drenched beach of Playa Samara. Playa Samara still has that old-fishing village feel for a real, authentic, Costa Rican atmosphere. There are many delicious, small restaurants (we’ve had a full, fresh seafood dinner with all the spoils for under $10!)
We’d recommend you try some of the following activities during your 3-day stay at the beach (to read more, just click on the options):
- Guided Night walk to observe turtles
- Surf Lessons
- Boat ride to do some dolphin watching
- Sea Kayaking in the canals and mangrove jungle
- Snorkeling off of Isla Chora by kayak
For your stay in Samara, you will be based at a small, centrally-located hotel in a comfortable room with fan, close to the beach.
After 3 nights in Samara you will be directly transfered to the international airport at San José (SJO) or to Liberia (LIR). If your flight schedule requires, we will plan your final night hotel stay closer to the airport so you will be able to catch your early morning departure. Once you’re here in Costa Rica, there’s still time to choose from any of fun and interesting activities or add them to your itinerary right away when you book, such as whitewater rafting, canyoneering, birdwatching and much more.
Included: 7-nights lodging in small, comfortable hotels, all transfers between locations. It’s easy to add-on any activities, upgrade hotels and add extra days, if you’d like!

Join San Jose Transport to your San Jose hotel included.
Day 2 » Tortuguero National Park
Pick-up at your hotel and travel about 3 hours through green rolling hills and enchanting valleys tucked away in lush rainforest to the isolated river canals that take you on a 4-hour jungle boat ride to Tortuguero national Park. Optional evening walk to view arrival of turtles nesting on the beaches.
Day 3 » La Fortuna
Return boat ride and private transfer to the cozy town of La Fortuna and what is considered Costa Rica’s premiere Adventure Zone – near the famous Arenal Volcano.
Day 4 » La Fortuna
We’ll stop by the Proyecto Asis Animal Rescue Center to visit wild animals such as monkeys, sloths and caimans that have been rescued from the surrounding jungle. We’ll help out by feeding the animals, plant trees and more. That afternoon, you’re bound to see wildlife as we head out on a nice volcano walk with a naturalist guide through the forest to the base of the active volcano – we’ll wait for it to get dark so hopefully we can spot the molten rocks pouring down the side of one of the world’s most-active volcanoes. Later relax in natural hot springs to do more lava viewing.
Day 5 » Monteverde
Enjoy a nice and easy horseback ride from La Fortuna along Lake Arenal as a unique form of transport to the beautiful town of Monteverde in the midst of the cloud forest. (We have children saddles and helmets available for the horseback ride.)
Day 6 » Monteverde
Guided-tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Later, take some time to visit the butterfly garden, galleries and delicious restaurants on your own.
Day 7 » Playa Samara
Now’s your chance to do the quintessential Costa Rica activity and swing through the treetops like Tarzan on a canopy zip line tour. We then make our way to the Pacific-side beach of Samara to catch a spectacular sunset and finally relax.
Day 8-9 » Playa Samara
Free time – beach, swimming, watersports!! There are many options to choose from at on of Costa Rica’s most-beautiful and safest swimming beach Playa Samara. Try some surf lessons, sea kayaking tour or snorkeling outing (optional activities not included in package).
Day 10 » Back to reality
Drive to the capital city of Costa Rica – San José.
Day 11 » San Jose

We then make our way by private shuttle to beautiful Ocotal Beach on the Pacific to catch a spectacular sunset and relax.
Day 7 » Ocotal Beach
You’ll have the morning free to take a walk on the beach or relax and in the afternoon enjoy a lovely sunset on your sailing tour.
Day 8 » Alajuela
After a lazy, relaxing morning on the beach we travel to Alajuela (Costa Rica’s second largest city) where you’ll have one last chance for shopping before catching your flight home the following morning.
