As a guide at a four season resort in the Appalachian Mountains of western Maryland, his focus was on working with families and small groups to enjoy a variety of adventure sports. In the summer he lead tours through high ropes courses, built to create both a physical and mental challenge for many age groups, while in the winter, as a snowmobile guide, he led tours through the mountain trails. Moving to Australia he worked as an expedition off-road motorcycle guide doing cross-Australia outback trips.
